Christmas Crafting 2020

Christmas Crafts 2020

Hi friends and welcome back to my blog! Today’s post is a blog response to Shanta’s Christmas Crafting 2020 Giveaway Challenge!

I’ve been a fan and subscriber of Shanta’s for quite some time now, and when I watched her video regarding a blog giveaway challenge I had to jump right in! I LOVE Christmas! And what better way to celebrate Christ throughout the year than to hold crafting challenges such as these!

Shanta’s rules are very simple. You create a Christmas theme craft (something that you haven’t yet shared on either YT or other social platform), then you respond to her blog with a link to your creation. Check out Shanta’s Christmas Crafting 2020 Giveaway Challenge by clicking here.

For my Christmas Crafts submission, I decided to make a couple of Christmas Cards. I also thought it would be great if I could finish up a paper pad that only has a few sheets left. You know the ones. We all have them. That paper pad that may have two or three sheets that we hate to part with, so we hoard it for YEARS! LOL

Not only did this craft challenge give me the opportunity to use things from my stash, but it also inspired me to think outside the box. (Hence the peachy-keen/blush color Christmas colors!) I know. I know. These are not your traditional Christmas colors, but I thought…. why not! Let’s do this! And I LOVE the way these came out!

Easy Handmade Christmas Cards

The two Christmas Cards that I show above are pretty much self-explanatory. You take an A2 card base, use scraps from a paper collection that you’re ready to say farewell to, trim the height of your paper 1/8 of an inch less than the height of your card base, use double-sided tape to adhere your scrap to the card, use a die-cut piece (ephemera) from your stash, use stickers and anything else that you can find and you’re done!

For the card below, I had a sheet large enough to cover the card base. Trimmed it to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, adhered it with double-sided tape, and used my Spellbinders Reindeer Prance Layering Set collection by Becca Feeken Amazing Paper Grace.

I then added some dimensional stickers and gold sticker dots to adorn the card. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
