Graphic 45 Sixty-Second Tutorial
Hello crafty friends! Quite often I’ve been asked how I go about in embellishing the covers to my mini albums. In this Graphic 45 Sixty-Second Tutorial, we’re going to cover just that.
I decided to make a Mini Album/Journal using the Graphic 45 Mixed Media Album and the Tropical Travelouge paper pack.
Tip: For that shabby chic effect, it’s all about the layers. Use coordinating trims and laces from your stash. Layer from large to small.
Tip: Always have a focal image on your front cover. Something pretty where you want the eye to go directly to.
In this instance, I’m using a die-cut piece from my stash and apply some pop-dots to add dimension to this piece.
To enhance the focal piece of my mini album cover, I add a cluster of ivory flowers from the Graphic 45 Rose Bouquet Collection. This cluster is applied slightly to the right of the lace embellishments.
I then hot-glue a closure using some trims and a Graphic 45 Ornate Metal Closure. I also hot-glue a rhinestone flat-back button on top of the closure to add some pizazz!
Tip: I like to dab a bit of Gesso to the back of my metal pieces. I find that the hot-glue adheres best this way.
Finally, I add a bit of glam to the front cover, by placing a few gold sequins here and there, add a couple of corner pieces and we’re done!
